PVSim solution developed for modeling the functionality of the solar power systems. This solution allows to simulate operating of different elements of solar power systems, thus predicting developed capacity and estimating operation ability of the energy system as a whole, depending on the set of user-input parameters.PVSim System is developed in collaboration with SunPower corporation and is one of the main software solutions used in the company. Besides the client part of the solution that is realized as Web-application, PVSim provides services that are being used by other software solutions in SunPower corporation. Main functions of the system: The solution allows to simulate functionality of the systems that are being designed and are not constructed yet. For example the solution allows to precisely model functionality of a solar panel before it is manufactured Solution has strong user interface that allows to enter maximally precise parameter values for modeling. Each user of the system has the ability to create his own set of parameters, called configuration and save this configuration in the database. Each user can create a number of configurations, manage them and share them with other users. Main users of the System: Engineers who develop new solar panels and mounting systems; Employees of quality control department and monitoring department; Sales and Marketing employees . Besides that services provided by the system are used by other software solutions in the SunPower corporation.
Benefits: The system also allows developers and designers to calculate exact number of solar panels needed to reach required capacity of the solar power system
Solution is developed on the basis of Internet technologies, with the use of service-oriented architecture and has service and client part. The solution is developed on the basis of Microsoft .NET platform.
